“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You—because he trusts in You.”

Isaiah 26:3

How lovely is Your Word, O Lord,
That speaks to my heart and mind—
For in its pages I hear Your Voice,
Calling me to leave my cares behind.

In the quietness of the moment,
I hear Your Voice so near,
Beckoning me to draw near to You
And cast on You all my worries, doubts and fears.

You already know everything about me:
My sins of thought and deed;
Yet, You still whisper “I love you.
Find in Me all you’ll ever need.”

Yes, it’s in those quiet moments of solitude
I hear Your Voice of cheer:
“Draw close to Me, My precious child
And let Me dry up all your tears.”

How wondrous is Your steadfast Love!
How sweet Your serenity of soul!
Help me, dear Lord, to stay my mind
On You, the One more precious than any earthly gold.

It’s in the quietness of Your Presence
I feel Your Love so strong;
Somehow I know that things will be alright,
For in trusting You I can’t go wrong.

So, help me, Lord, to trust You more
And to love you with all my life—
For it’s only then that I can experience Your Perfect Peace,
Which is Your Presence in the midst of strife.

It’s knowing You’re always there for me
When everything is going wrong
That enables me to rest secure in Your Love
And to sing a peaceful, joyful song.
