“And you shall seek Me and find Me: when you shall search for Me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:13
He promised that we’d find Him
If we searched with all of our heart:
Which means to Him we must surrender
Everything from the very start.
We cannot give Him the leftovers
Or the crumbs from a rich man’s table;
Instead, we must give Him the best that we have,
Knowing only in Him are we able:
Able to “live, move and have our being,”
Able to experience His True Peace within—
For it’s only when we seek Him and surrender
That we have Joy and freedom from all known sin.
Yes, seeking Him means longing for Him
As one who is dying of thirst:
For knowing Him must be our life’s consuming obsession,
Where we always seek Him first.
We long to know Him in His Power
And each day find in Him our worth:
For only then that we experience His incomparable Joy
That comes through Him in the New Birth.
Like one who looks for hidden treasure—
Pure gold and priceless gems—
We want to know Jesus in His fullness
And truly abide in Him.
Do not fret or get discouraged
When trouble is all you see:
For Jesus is using all things in our lives,
To transform us and set us free.
So trust Him now and daily seek Him
With every part of your heart inside:
For that’s the true “Secret of Serenity”—
When, in Him, you truly abide.
